S I A Door Supervisor license Application, Post office.

Image
So your training is complete and you’ve filled in the online application with all your details and the numbers from your supporting documents. Now it’s just a matter of finding a post office that can process your application, I looked at the post office web site and found my nearest post office was on Buckingham Avenue Slough.  Arriving at the post office it was reasonably busy so there was a short wait. Once I got to the desk I handed over the print out with my application number on it and the post master typed it into his tablet. I handed over my documents one type A and two type B to support my application and these were checked and handed back to me. He came out and took my photo and then I payed my £184 for the license and collected my receipt. I had turned on text alerts when I opened my SIA account so I immediately received a text telling me that my application was at the next stage awaiting the background check. Latter that evening I received another text telling me ...

Richmond Park visit, deer, parakeets and king Henry’s mount

Image
Richmond Park Deer Sitting  It was an early start this morning, filling a thermos with coffee and jumping in to the car. The motorway was packed so it was slow progress and the 18 miles took just under an hour.  The car park was empty when we arrived at around 7:30, the cafe was being set up for the day but was yet to open. I wanted to walk up to king Henry’s mound and see what the sight line to St Paul’s cathedral in London was like at this time of day. It was a 40 minute walk from our car park which was fine.  Richmond Park Red Deer It was a walk by the side of a road cutting through the park and it was only a short while before we saw a herd of deer grazing and lazing by the side of the road. They are very tame and it was possible to get really close before taking some pictures. Even with just a camera phone it’s easy to get some amazing pictures. There was a small flock of parakeets by the side of the road too on the way. I managed to get a picture of them bein...

Barry Lyndon, Ryan O’Neal, Stanley Kubrick

Image
On the heels of A Clockwork Orange Kubrick started his costume drama Barry Lyndon. For the starting role Kubrick picked Ryan O’Neal who him self was coming into this from the fabulous Paper Moon, for which his daughter Tatum would become the youngest ever Oscar winner at 10 rears old.  No controversy for this film there was however a threat from the IRA when production was started in Ireland and the initial shots involved scenes with the English army. Production was moved to England and would last a long 300 days.  Part 1 Barry Lyndon was raised on an Irish farm and his first love and seductress was his cousin, she would latter see a better opportunity with an English Captain ( Leonard Rossiter ) after a duel which Lyndon wins he is forced to flee. While on the run he runs into a highway man who robs him of everything apart from his boots and leaves him with no choice but to enlist in the English army. While in barracks Lyndon discovers he has been tricked and the English Capt...

Legs

Image
It’s Sunday and that means leg day !  With cross trainer to get some blood pumping through the legs, 30 mins on intervals level 14 I didn’t push too hard I wanted to save some for the main event.  It was on to squats next and I started off with 50kg to get the motion and then quickly worked up to 100kg which I’m getting more comfortable with, don’t think I’m confident to up it yet but it’s getting there.  Leg curls next starting off at 50kg and working up to 75kg.  Leg extensions next and I tried to mirror the curls not pushing too hard this week I wanted to stay comfortable. Leg press next and I started off higher at 80kg and ended up finishing on 117.5kg which is good. I was running out of time in the car park so I had to call it a day but I’m pleased with my results. Rest

Image
I had all grand plans yesterday evening, I got the cycling stuff out. The leggings, thermal tops, sicks the whole kit and laid it to one side ready.  I got in this afternoon and maybe it’s the thought of my two rest days but I just relaxed and felt tired. I sat down and it hit me like a wave, so I’ve decided to take a rest this afternoon unwind and get ready for doing something on my rest days !  Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Shoulders

Image
It’s a return to the gym and shoulders are on today’s agenda.  It’s rowing machine to kick off with I pushed quite hard 4170m in 30min. It was on to a shoulder work out with the press machine first, starting at 20kg and working up to 32.5kg at the finish.  Then on to the lateral raise machine and starting higher at 25kg and going up to 32.5kg  Shoulder press with a bar next starting with 17.5kg and going up to 30kg it was good and the bar didn’t feel that heavy.  Up right rows next and I tried to match the press weights.  Front plate raises next starting low with 10kg and going up to 20kg. I had a slog in the gym diary and did some abs starting at 65kg and upping it to 80kg.  It was a nice work out. Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Spring photos fruit blossom and Blackpark

Image
Spring blossom  It’s spring time and that means fruit trees are going into bloom again and photographers can take pictures of the blossom.  It’s a walk up to  Bee in blossom  Blackpark again this afternoon and I’ve got a set of extension tubes to pay with as well. The sun is high in the sky and there’s great light so it was a change into some sweats and out with the camera. The first lot of blossom is on the corner of a busy street so there’s lots of interest as I get closer to take some macro pictures using the tubes.    Buttercup  My legs are bit tired after four days at the gym so it wasn’t the fastest walk but it was nice to be out in the warm even if I was hobbling about.  Blackpark wasn’t that busy considering the weather was good, I went to check the rhododendron to see if it was in bloom but it’s latter in the spring I think.    Blackpark has a new cafe right next to the car park, I didn’t go in but it looks really good fr...

Mickey 17, Bong Joon Ho, Robert Patterson, Naomi Ackie

Image
Before we get into it let’s take a few moments for Haydn Gwynne who plays the congresswoman and passed away from the effects of cancer in 2023 this was her final film.  It’s the first film I’ve seen from Bong Joon Ho and it’s his first since receiving an Oscar for best director and best film in 2019.  Robert Patterson has come a long way since Twilight in what feels like an age ago. The director kept him on his toes by asking for different types of performance just before a take which helped the performer deliver that confused appearance. All the performances are good, Mark Ruffalo as the over the top politician in a Trump Vein brings a smile especially with his ignorance and bombastic ideas.  The film  Mickey needs to leave earth after borrowing money for a macaron business that flopped, the loan shark he’s borrowed from has some nasty ideas of repayment. The only way off planet is to sign on as an expendable on a colonisation ship being led by a failed polit...

Wendy’s UK Uxbridge !

Image
After being stuck inside all last week doing my door supervisor course this week it’s time to make up for it. It’s a trip to Uxbridge for lunch and the cinema. First lunch I last had a Wendy’s in about 2004 there was a small one in Terminal 3 Heathrow and I think I had it for lunch one day. They rapidly started disappearing and I never bumped into one again.  Well now they are creeping back a few years ago they opened in Reading and there’s been one in Uxbridge for a while too.    On this visit I went for the smoky cheeseburger with fries and a Dr Pepper, I also got the add on nuggets too. I have to say the burger was nice as were the fries but the nuggets I would have to say are best avoided. They are the size of KFC poppers and not good value. If you want nuggets walk the few steps to McDonald’s and get some ! Then you know what you’re getting.  It wasn’t to bad value wise we got two meals with nuggets and one of those was with an ice cream drink and it was ...

Triceps

Image
To complement yesterday’s biceps workout today it’s triceps. It was cross trainer intervals to start on level 14 I managed to push into zone 4 and get the heart pumping.  It was straight onto cable curls next with the rope already fitted it was pull downs to start, not heavy starting on 20kg and working up to 28.5kg by the end of the! Overhead pulls next and starting a bit higher on 23.5kg and working up to 32.5kg and it wasn’t too bad.  Cable with a bar next and again starting off at 23.5kg and working up to 32.5 kg near the end. Tricep machine next and starting at 50kg and working up to 65kg it wasn’t a strain but it was good.  Abs to finish and 50kg and working up to 80kg which was ok and the max on the machine. With all the well known comics from the panel show circuit in one room chaos ensues. Currently the first 4 episodes are out with the last 2 coming out on the 27th March. It nice light hearted comedy that’s just the tonic lift your day, there’s a style for everyone Bob Mortimer’s mad cap comedy to Richard Ayoade’s dry humour. Of course there are twists and turns as each try’s to out do the other !  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Biceps

Image
It’s to the gym again and biceps today, it was rowing machine to start and I got the decent one today and pushed but I was short of my record 4379m.  It was on to biceps and the machine to start with, starting light with 20kg and working up to 32kg it was a nice start.  On to preacher with a fat EZ bar I put 10kg a side and then added 2.5kg a side not heavy but with a nice slow motion it was good.  Cable curls next with a wide range motion starting with 12.5kg and working up to 17.5kg it wasn’t heavy but it did a job. Barbell next and starting with 20kg and upping to 30kg ot was grind at the end.  I got on the preacher machine next with a 15kg plate and upping it to 25kg to finish it was a grind. On to some nice easy lat pull downs to finish starting with 42.5kg and upping it to 65kg to finish. It was a nice workout today. Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Adolescence, Netflix

Image
Adolescence is a gritty series from Netflix. A young boy is arrested for murder early one morning and follow as a fly on the wall. It’s the brutal reality of our modern world that this is happening more often.  You’ll watch the case as it develops with solicitors and and the absolute shock as the full impact of events unfold. It’s a good watch and it’s shocking and harrowing at times.  Recommend  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

The Electric State, Mille Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Woody Harrelson

Image
Netflix  Set in an alternate universe where robots have become prevalent in society to such a degree they’ve a civil rights movement and have become outcasts.  Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown)  comes into contact with a rouge robot, wanting to get to the exclusion zone where the robots are held in a ghetto they bump into Keats (Chris Pratt) who also has a robot and become stowaways on his big rig full of contraband. It turns into an adventure film with Michelle looking for her lost little brother who’s in the exclusion zone. It’s a really good family film with lots of little ester eggs for everyone to spot. I went into it with an open mind and I’m pleased I did. The production must have been expensive as the cgi work is outstanding. I’d highly recommend  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Leg day

Image
After a week of sitting in a classroom it’s leg day again with no excuses. I started off with some cross trainer on intervals I pushed hard and got into the red zone. 510 calories and 2.6 km covered. It was on to squats on the machine starting of light at 50kg to get some heat into the muscles and working up to my first set at 100kg only 8 reps though but I’m pleased. Leg curls next starting at 50kg and working up to 72.5kg for the last two sets it was a grind. Leg extensions next and I mirrored the curls as closely as possible.  Leg press next and it was the machine today because the plate machine was occupied. Starting high at 80kg and working up to 110kg for the last two sets it was tough but I pushed through.  Seated calf raises to finish starting off with 50kg and upping it to 60kg to finish off.  It was a good work out today, I pushed a bit harder and I think is paying off.  Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Task Force Black, Mark Urban

Image
Published nearly 15 years ago Task force black out lines the S.A.S operations in the early stages of the 2003 Iraq war.  I believe this book is based on interviews and anecdotes from some of the S.A.S personnel who were there as it goes from in depth on the scene to a vague oh this happened as well. It’s an ok read but frustrating as it bounces about. There’s lots of detail about the rules of engagement and how they changed as the conflict wore on and the reasons why.  When it was released this book would have been one of the few resources on to out line these operations but as time goes on there are better first hand accounts to look at. There’s a story of two operators being captured and I know there are much better accounts out there. If you’re a fan of Mark Urban an his writing you probably have this already after 15 years and if you’re thinking about getting it I’d avoid and get a better first hand account.  ⭐️⭐️⭐️ have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Back to the gym chest

Image
As it was an early finish from the door supervisor training I was able to get to the gym. It was rowing machine to start I had a rower that was a bit knackered so no record attempts today. I did ok though just under 4000 meters.  On to a chest workout, it was wide presses to start not heavy 19kg to start and moving up to 32kg. It was nice to be back and building up again. Incline press next as it was free, starting with 10kg on the bar then increasing it to 20kg nice slow motions.  Cable flys next 10kg a side and dropping down to 7.5kg not heavy but it did the job. Machine flys next and starting with 42.5kg and then going up to 65kg to finish. Machine press next but narrow this time, starting with 20kg and then moving up to 32kg to failure.  Dumbbell presses to finish off 16kg a side and then 18kg a side to finish.  It was nice to be back in the gym again and training, I’ll try to keep it going. S.I.A Door supervisor day six exam day

Image
It’s the last day of the course and it’s exam day, I got there nice and early and waited with the rest of the alumni for the examiner to arrive. We waited and waited and she eventually arrived 20 mins late, she was a lovely lady lucky for me.  We went into the class and found our positions and we were re arranged so that there was a gap between everyone. The exam was explained to us as well as the conditions that would have to be maintained.  It was into the first exam the number of questions and the pass mark were explained, I was having the devils own task of getting it to work on my phone and had to ask for help, luckily the lady had a spare phone and set me up on that one. The first exam was on working in private security and we had 1hr50mins to complete it. After my bad start I managed to get through it quickly and I was soon outside the class chilling. Some members of the class took the whole time to complete the exam. Next it was physical intervention and it was ...

S.I.A Door supervisor course day five afternoon

Image
It the afternoon of day five and the hardest part is over now it’s all about the actual use of physical restraints. The format is simple we’re shown the technique and then have to demonstrate it on video. They’re all pretty simple and there’s lots of coaching when we make mistakes through nerves. We get through them all quickly but what’s even more impressive is our coming together as a team all 18 of us over 5 days support each other and celebrate victories and help to teach and support when there are mistakes.  The results ? We all passed our physical intervention section and tomorrow it’s on to the main examinations. Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

S.I.A Door supervisor course day 5 morning

Image
It’s day five of the door supervisor course and the day of the practical assessment. There was a brief introduction for the second trainer. We were shown another radio and search test and then in was into the assessment in groups of four.  The second trainer asked the mandatory questions about physical interventions and medical conditions.  There was a lot of waiting around and I went to do the questions first I was a bit nervous but got through it. We went and did our contact and cover exercises so I was in the first group again it was nervous but got through it and answered the questions about it.  On to the body search and I breezed through it it’s just awkward doing a bad search.  I had to do some support bits for otter assessments, I took playing a drunk to far and had to pull it back a bit. It was ok.  It’s a short lunch then back in for physical interventions.  Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

S.I.A Door supervisor day four afternoon

Image
The afternoon of day four was straight forward we were given another demonstration of the search requirements with the use of radio. And then we were give time to practice on each other for a couple of hours we were called back into a group and the instructor showed us some restraint techniques and how to get out of holds. We went back to practicing searches and answering questions. The last 30mins was back to handcuff training which we were reminded we could get the certificate for £70 I turned it down. Then home time !  Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

S.I.A Door supervisor course day four morning.

Image
Day four starts with finishing off module 3 reflection and learning on an incident and the techniques involved in the process.  On to module 4 physical intervention, there are two types of interventions non restrictive interventions and restrictive interventions.  There use of physical interventions are a last resort, when used thought should be given to avoid conflict, give space, give a clear exit for yourself and other parties.  There’s a large section on dealing with conditions and being able to recognise them and the health and safety aspects on using physical interventions.  Then we were prepared for the questions we would be asked tomorrow in the practical exam before breaking for lunch. Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

S.I.A Door supervisor day three afternoon

Image
The afternoon session picked up with some more conflict management theory and went of signs of escalating behaviour, and how to deescalate a situation using the contact and cover method. There was also the drawing round method where you can split a fighting pain and turn them away from each other before calming them.  We were given a demonstration of our practical bag and body search and what would be required it’s quite straightforward not to taxing.  Then there was a demonstration of conflict management which we did ourselves under slight instruction again it’s very straight forward and in a managed environment very easy.  To finish off it was more playing with hand cuffs as we were reminded that there is a handcuff course we could be signed off on for £70 before wrapping up for the day. Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

S.I.A Door supervisor course day three morning

Image
Day three picked up from day two and we continued to talk about licensing and the sale of alcohol.  It was on to queue management, the use of clickers to count how many people had entered a venue. Keeping people safe and communication.  Body worn cameras the benefits of them and the downsides too this was put together with the use of radios after being taught the basics there was a brief exercise around the training venue where groups were given a task to complete it fun to listen to and take part.  That finished the second module.  The third module was conflict management which we started in the morning there are lots of techniques and acronyms for this one that are a bit beyond this blog but essentially it’s about calm approach and creating space and thinking about the situation before making decisions. It was a break for lunch Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

S.I.A door supervisor day two afternoon

Image
After lunch it was back to presentations and responsibilities of a door supervisor.  There’s a large section on drugs the effects of drugs. Obviously I’m not going to go into it to much as google will just delete the post.  Then it was different kinds of crimes a door supervisor can come across.  Searching customers and the legal implications and procedures around that and the difference between the types of searches. Searching premises and when these are carried out. Preservation of evidence and how to effect this,  CCTV preservation  Cordon off areas  Inform management  Contact emergency services  Call for help.  Types of evidence and the definitions.  Then it was on to the licensing act 2003 and the legal aspects of it. Who can be refused entry and who cannot be refused entry. The reasons why entry can be refused and who is responsible for sale of alcohol on the premises.  The challenge 21 and challenge 25 schemes and the ...

S.I.A Door supervisor course day two morning.

Image
It’s day two and back to the class room. We need to finish off module one from yesterday. It’s an introduction to record keeping to start with. Why records are kept and the format that these records are kept in. The key basics are an introduction with name of reporter and date followed by who, what, where, why and how followed by end of report time and date.  Then there are the reasons why reports are dismissed as evidence with the Advocate acronym. A Amount of time eg only seeing something for a brief moment. D Distance away from the events. V visibility was it foggy or was it through glass that was opaque. S.I.A door supervisor day one afternoon

Image
The afternoon of day one starts with some course admin, this is the S.I.A course main element now and there are some hoops to jump through.  There are some permissions that we have to give, filming and photography consent a vulnerable persons consent and a declaration for physical intervention training. There’s an English language test that a lot of people struggle with, the first section is reading a notice then answering questions and then it’s writing some statements the first about what you did yesterday and the second on where you are taking the assessment. There’s a short test to assess your knowledge and readiness for the course it’s straight forward if you’ve done the course work.  When the course gets going it’s intense, starting with criminal law and types of offences and the terms that define them and powers of arrest.  There was a health and safety section that includes RIDDOR, the reporting of serious incidents to the government. Accident reports and n...

S.I.A Door supervisor course Day 1 morning

Image
That New Year’s resolution to learn new skills has come around and it’s time for my S.I.A door supervisor course day one.  I get to the venue and I’m early so a good start it’s a hotel just outside of Heathrow. At 8 am we go into a small conference room and there’s a brief introduction to the course and then it’s onto the first section. Checking documentation and making sure everyone can apply for a license after the course. It takes a while because there are 12 of us on the course I’m up first and it’s all good just a matter of waiting for everyone else.  Once is all completed and guidance has been given out where needed it’s on to the first aid section of the course. First it’s the recovery position and after a demonstration we all have to show that we can confidently put someone into the recovery position and we understand DRABC. Danger  Response  Airway  Breathing  Circulation. It’s a nervous start but we all get through it and there’s some silli...

Return to the gym and leg day

Image
After my freezing cold feet on yesterday’s cycle today it’s back to the warm confines of the gym.  It’s the last day of the week so it’s leg day, starting off with cross trainer intervals on 14 to get the blood pumping for 30mins.  It was squats first starting with 50kg and working up to 70kg not so heavy but the cycle yesterday was taking a toll.  Leg press next and 50kg to start but quickly working up to 110kg to finish it was good but a hard slog.  Prone leg curls not something I normally do but the other machines were busy starting with 50kg and finishing up of 65kg but it was a grind.  I went onto seated calf raises starting with 50kg and going up a bit to 60kg  I was waiting for leg extensions so popped in a quick chest press just a light one. 20kg and going up to 27.5kg until the leg extension machine was empty. I got on the leg extension machine started at 50kg and increased it to 65kg to finish.  I made it to the car park by the skin of...

Afternoon ride

Image
On my drive home I contemplated turning left and going to the gym but the bright sunshine and dry roads made me think of going for a nice cycle.  I got in and changed into my cycle gear picked up a couple of gels and made my way out. I set off out of slough and down into Datchet and then followed the road into Windsor, there are some temporary traffic lights near Windsor riverside station so I had the pleasure of undertaking all the traffic that had just overtaken me. I made my way between the river and the park and under the railway bridge, past the leisure centre and out on the to Maidenhead road. It’s a nice wide road with a slight incline just after the roundabout I turned as if heading to Bracknell and followed the road for a few miles. After 11 or so miles I turned for Maidenhead and went through all the little villages to get there. I bypassed the centre of Maidenhead and went on to the A4 over the Maidenhead bridge and I followed the road all the way to Slough. My fe...

Back day

Image
It’s to the gym again today and this time a back workout.  I started of with the rowing machine and I put in a bit of a shift here 4176m in 30 mins and that was above my last effort.  Dead lifts to start and I added 30kg to a standard bar and  and then raised it up to 40kg for my working sets, not very heavy I know but the were lots of reps.  Reverse fly next and starting with 50kg and then raising slowly to 65kg which was a struggle. Rows next and starting at 50kg and raising up to 65kg and it was a bit of a grind  Lat pull downs next with a wide grip, 40kg to start then working up to 70kg by the end it felt good !  Bent over rows with a t bar not heavy just 15kg to start then up to 20kg to finish off.  It was a nice work out today and a bit heavier than normal.    Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Spies, Calder Walton

Image
Concentrating on espionage between the former Soviet Union and later Russia and its Western Contemporaries this book could never be a seen as a complete history of those activities for that would be impossible due to the nature of the subject. But this book does deliver as much information as it can and there are some revelations to be found between its pages.  Early in this book the author asks us a question, when did the Cold War start ? A simple question, wouldn’t you agree ? You might answer yourself and say when Winston Churchill made his speech “An iron curtain has descended across Europe” and the allies of World War Two split between ideology’s, that was my answer too by the way. But you would really have to go a lot further back 1934 when a young Kim Philby was recruited by Soviet intelligence at Cambridge university.  Calder Walton takes you on a journey from this early days when the impressionable university alumni where recruited right up to the modern day*. ...

Return to the gym shoulders

Image
After yesterday’s pyjama day it was a return to the gym today with intent.  Starting with the cross trainer to warm up set on intervals I wound it up until I was pushing zone 4 on the hard sections not much distance covered only 1.6 km but 500 calories burned in 30 minutes.  It was on to a shoulder workout starting with the press machine set to 20kg to get the motion then increasing to 32kg to finish. Lateral raise machine next and starting at 20kg and working up to 33.5kg it felt good. On to the bars next and military press to kick off starting at 30kg it felt good and I pushed up to 35kg to finish.  I wasn’t as confident with up right rows so started with 20kg but it was way to light so jumped up to 30kg and then a set of 35kg to end on. I should be more confident next time !!  Front plate raises starting with 10kg and quickly working up to 20kg concentration on form and burning out those shoulders.  To finish I had time so banged out some abdominal cru...

Dr. Strangelove or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb !

Image
A piece of trivia to kick off, what film has the longest title? Well ok you’ve probably guessed it’s this one and no I’m not going to type it again !  A dark comedy from the creative mind of Stanley Kubrick this time and yes it’s produced with the typical Kubrick methods not only on the film but more of that later.  It’s strange to look back 60 odd years later at the state of the world but we must to give this film a context. Only two years before the world had held its breath as the Cuban missile crisis was in full swing. With the Soviet Union placing nuclear tipped missiles only 90 miles from the U.S mainland there was a real fear that the Cold War would turn hot. Lucky the U.S quarantine of Cuba worked and after negotiations the tensions were deescalated. As the film states there were B-52 bombers constantly in the air ready to retaliate a strike, it was called operation Chrome Dome and would last most of the decade, of course with a high intensity of missions there ...

Mountain bike refurb

Image
With the weather looking like it’s about to turn a corner I thought I’d have a look at my mountain bike and get it ready for some off road fun.  I haven’t been on it for nearly two years as I concentrated on the road bike mainly. I put some air in the tyres a good start and then it came to rolling the darn thing and the chain was stiff. I got the ptfe spray out and gave it a good dose and a spin and it was fine. Now a brake check and the rear seemed to lock on, oh no this isn’t good. I gave it a couple of goes each time wiggling the disc in the calliper to free it off and now it seems fine. It’s just a case of giving it a ride !  Hopefully there’s some warm weather in the next few weeks and I can give it a bash, I live close to Blackpark so that’s always an option or there’s the jubilee river which has a nice cycle lane near it. What ever happens I’ll keep you updated!  Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Another spring/summer offering from Coca Cola. Last week I looked at the limited edition Dr Pepper cherry crush and now there’s a new product on the shelf, Coca Cola lemon ! This one is a lot more subtle than last weeks offering much like cherry cola the lemon taste is very mild and dances in the background. The first hit you get is of the cola then there’s a slight hint of lemon as it dies away it’s a nice experience.  As the days get warmer and we start moving outside it’s a nice edition to the coke line up. There is already a Diet Coke with lime in the brands line up let’s see if Coca Cola with lemon will be a hit or if it’s just a summer special !  Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Grey’s Anatomy returns

Image
After its mid season break Grey’s anatomy has returned to U.S screens and will be back on Disney plus for the rest of us soon.  I know it’s not the same as it was in its original format when Mcdreamy and Mcsteamy were prowling the hospital halls and the ridiculous plot lines kept us all engaged. Now it’s moved on to the modern world and is more inclusive and less misogynistic with its storytelling. But it’s still a good piece of escapism, you can put it on for an hour and be confident that for a time you will be placed in another world. A world where the core characters are still there and haven’t changed with their core characteristics still in place.  Set back and veg out and if you’ve never watched it get on to Disney + and start from the beginning it’s a treat of trashy tv and if you’ve don’t fall for Mcdreamy ( Patrick Dempsey) what’s wrong with you !  Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
