First Stop Battersea Power station

Image
Battersea Power station as seen from  Grovesnor Road   I started my London photo trip in Battersea, specifically Battersea power station. When I was a child this was a run down area of London the power station which had been coal fired had come to the end of its life and because of its Grade II listed status had become a planning enigma.  Battersea power station was built in two half’s the first Battersea A between 1929 and 1935. Battersea A was more ornate in side as was the way at the time designers had licence to make statement pieces and add flare to industrial projects. This half of the power station came online in 1935 and produced 243mw of electricity at its peak. By 1975 this half of the power station was coming to the end of its useful life and was decommissioned and left as an empty building.  Battersea power station chimney  Battersea B began construction when A was finished however work slowed down due to the start of the Second World War...

Trip to London, walking and photography

Image
Westminster Tower Aka Big Ben It’s my second rest day and I thought I’d take a little trip to London and go for a walk. The weather is nice and clear so I stuffed the camera into the back pack and see if I could capture some nice photos, I was hoping to take photographs that were a bit different and I had one key place to visit Leake street near Waterloo station.  I’d been there before with my friend we did a walking quiz/adventure game just before the general election last year. It was more an opportunity to visit lots of different pubs and get drunk, the record was 2 hours and it took us closer to 8 to finish and I nearly gave up twice. Oh and to top things off it finished in a gay bar my friend was not impressed.  L Leake Street Graffiti  Leake street constantly evolves and changes and artwork is replaced and refreshed. There’s lots of styles all mashed into one place, the highly realistic portraits, classic graffiti lettering and even just tags from local child...

The most dangerous junction in Buckinghamshire?

𝒥𝓊𝓃𝒸𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃 ℬ𝑒𝓉𝓌𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝒰𝓍𝒷𝓇𝒾𝒹𝑔𝑒 ℛ𝑜𝒶𝒹 𝒶𝓃𝒹 ℬ𝓁𝒶𝒸𝓀 𝒫𝒶𝓇𝓀 ℒ𝒶𝓃𝑒  When the weather is bad and I don’t want to cycle or during the summer when I’ve been to the gym but want to get out and get some fresh air I like to walk up to black park. I walk on the footpath by the side of the Uxbridge road.  𝒰𝓍𝒷𝓇𝒾𝒹𝑔𝑒 𝓇𝑜𝒶𝒹 𝓁𝑜𝑜𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓊𝓅 𝓉𝑜 ℬ𝓁𝒶𝒸𝓀 𝓅𝒶𝓇𝓀  It’s when I get to the point in this photo Uxbridge Road looking up to Black park I normally see it there will be two cars both heavily damaged and perhaps an ambulance or police car and a crowd of people standing around. Too often I get to see the victims as I walk past and onto the forest paths. If I don’t seen the people and vehicles I’ll see the aftermath there will be a new piece of debris a piece of car bumper or the broken lenses from lights.  𝒜𝒸𝒸𝒾𝒹𝑒𝓃𝓉 𝒹𝑒𝒷𝓇𝒾𝓈 Sometimes it can change daily there will be a new piece of broken car there, I’m not sure all th...

January Apple Challenge Complete

I’ve done it, I’ve managed to complete 88 minutes of exercise 14 times and get my January medal.  Ok it’s a free night not be a big achievement but it’s something! Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

A walk up to Black Park

Image
I had intended to go to the gym today and after my first online ACT course I put on my sweats grabbed my gear and drove down there. I got into the car park drove around and around but it was full and there was a few of us driving around looking for spaces so I aborted that plan, I came home had a spot of lunch and did my second online course instead.  I wanted to test out the knee see how it would hold up on a walk so after I’d waded though the second course I thought I’d get a bit of fresh air and try out my digital camera at the same time. Yes all the pictures in this blog were shot with a Canon camera not a phone camera, ok it was getting dark at the time as the day had rolled on considerably by this point but I wanted to try it out anyway ! Not the longest walk just up and around the lake at some arty shots to populate this blog and practice my photography skills, I know I need more practice ! Oh a more light too !!

ACT Security course Pass and E Learning complete !

Image
𝒜𝒞𝒯 𝒮𝑒𝒸𝓊𝓇𝒾𝓉𝓎 𝒸𝑒𝓇𝓉𝒾𝒻𝒾𝒸𝒶𝓉𝑒 I completed my second SIA E-Learning course this afternoon. It’s actually a really good course and I hope I never have to use it or the components of the course.  No it’s just a mater of going to the six day course to get my license !  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

ACT Awareness course Pass

Image
𝒜𝒞𝒯 𝒜𝓌𝒶𝓇𝑒𝓃𝑒𝓈𝓈 𝒞𝑒𝓇𝓉𝒾𝒻𝑒𝒾𝒸𝒶𝓉𝑒 First course of the year passed.  Ok it’s a free course open to everyone but I worked my way through and have a nice certificate to show my success.  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

SIA Door Supervisor E-Learning

Image
For the SIA door supervisor course there are two mandatory E Learning modules form the Protect Uk platform.  I thought I’d get through one of those this morning the Awareness course. It’s broken up into modules to make it easier to digest.  Wish me luck.  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

19 crimes the uprising !

Image
I’m on a rest day tomorrow so tonight I can relax and unwind. I’ve popped down to Sainsburys and bought some red wine. Now if you don’t drink red wine normally I wouldn’t recommend getting drunk on it, it’s messy!  But if you’re looking for just want to chill and watch a movie or in my case some rubbish on you tube then a bottle of red is the perfect choice.  I like the Australian 19 Crimes at the moment I’m drinking ‘The Uprising’ which is a full bodied red and a higher alcohol content. 19 Crimes Red Wine isn’t that bold and has a nice balance in taste.  Now the question is which one of my recommendations in tv series or movies are you going to watch with it ?  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

Swollen knee update

Image
So I woke up this morning and my knee is swollen and painful. I considered this most of the morning as I hobbled around and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s wasn’t the squats that did for my knee, it was the hard impact with the calf raise machine when I wasn’t paying attention. My mistake and so I’m resting it today and I’ll give the gym a bash tomorrow.  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

Michelin CrossClimate tyres 🛞

Image
ℳ𝒾𝒸𝒽𝑒𝓁𝒾𝓃 𝒞𝓇𝑜𝓈𝓈𝒸𝓁𝒾𝓂𝒶𝓉𝑒   It was just over two years ago I had some Michelin crossclimate tyres fitted to my Kia Rio.   It works out to be about 20000 miles but mostly urban driving which is harder on tyres as there is mor acceleration and braking which increases wear.  Before the crossclimate’s there were summer tyres on the front and the grip wasn’t great and even on a gentle acceleration from traffic lights traction control would kick in. ( I’m a very dull slow driver btw) So when it can time to change I put on some tyres with better harsh weather characteristics and cross climates sprung to mind. What are the like ? Well with the three peak winter tyres symbol to indicate a winter approved tyre on the side wall the grip is good and I no longer get any wheel spin when pulling away. The noise levels are about the same as a summer tyres even on a concrete section of motorway. The wet weather performance is good and breaking has never caused any issu...

Back In Action, Netflix Cameron Diaz Jamie Foxx

Image
ℬ𝒶𝒸𝓀 ℐ𝓃 𝒜𝒸𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃 ℳ𝑜𝓋𝒾𝑒 𝒫𝑜𝓈𝓉𝑒𝓇 Netflix movies especially the spy movies are good for the family and there’s something for everyone.  The budget isn’t as high as a Bond movie but on the other hand it’s also not a continuous advert for movie sponsors like Bond.  There are some great action sequences that keep the smart phone generation engaged and they come thick and fast.  The script is suitable for the family, it’s not that complicated but has enough to keep the adults entertained.  It’s worth a look and is great for a slow Sunday afternoon under a blanket with some snacks.  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

Swollen knee

Image
After leg day yesterday my left knee swelled up in the evening, not by much but it’s noticeable to me.  I’m kind of in two minds about going to the gym this afternoon. If I go I’ll have to be mindful of it and not push so hard. The purser behind the knee cap is swollen and if it continues I’ll be in trouble! Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

My favourite photo

Image
‘Waiting’ Paddington Station  I was on my way to the theatre to watt the Lion king at the Lyceum Theatre I’d caught the train from slough and I was in Paddington Staymaming my way to the underground entrance pre Elizabeth line. Something in my head made me turn around and there was this little girl waiting with her father. It’s not the the prettiest photo and it’s slightly wonky if I’m honest but it’s all about the story.  In a busy train station in west London there are hundreds or even thousands of people passing through appointments and schedules all the hustle and bustle. But there amongst it all a young girl and her father (guessing) wait for that person to arrive maybe mum or gran. The jacket is around her arms and there’s a feeling of expectation of longing from both of them. I hope they did meet that person on that day February 17 2017 and that the reunion was all they expected.  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

Leg day

Image
Walking to the car after work the weather is terrible freezing rain and wind from the latest storm to roll in but I was determined to get to the gym. It was rowing to start and 30  mins and 3575 meters covered it was on to the weight section. The squat machine was busy so I started with leg press on 65kg I’ve had some hot spots on my knees so didn’t want to push too hard so only went up to 80kg.  It was on to leg curl next, the seated leg curl was bust so I had to use the prone leg curl. I started on 35kg and moved up to 62.5kg it’s different to a seated curl a bit more difficult I guess because you’re curling against gravity.  Leg extensions next and I tried to mirror the curls the weights were slightly different but as close as I could.  Squats next starting heavier than normal at 50kg and moving up to 70kg it wasn’t to bad I need more confidence to go heavier next time.  On to calf’s to finish 50kg to start going up to 70kg. I did smash my knees into t...

Afternoon rest

Image
ℛ𝑒𝓈𝓉 𝒶𝓃𝒹 ℛ𝑒𝒸𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓎 𝒻𝒾𝓉𝓃𝑒𝓈𝓈 𝓅𝑜𝓈𝓉𝑒𝓇 It’s been full on this week already three days at the gym early in the week, then crawling around strengthening our wardrobe as it was about collapse and a bit wonky.  Yesterday was a walk to Windsor so today I’m going to rest and just watch some techmoan on you tube. Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

January Apple challenge update

Image
It was a slow start due to getting ill near the beginning of the month and sitting around drowning in mucus but it’s turned around.  I guess it’s a Hail Mary I’m now up to 11/14 days and I have a week left to complete it. I think I’ll do it  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

Rest day walk

Image
It’s my second rest day, yesterday I spent most of the day fixing the wordrobe as it was about to collapse and needed a bit of strengthening.  We had some vouchers for a pizza and a coke for £10 in pizza express so decided to walk to Windsor to get it. The much predicted wind wasn’t so bad, I guess that’s because we’re at the bottom of a valley and the worst misses the depression.  The pizza was nice I had a sloppy Giuseppe and a regular coke. It was really nice and a bargain as it would normally be £17 for the two.  For desert we walked down to creams in Windsor and had the Ferrero Rocher sundaes and relaxed.  We walked home and it was clear skys and not a hint of wind.  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

Breakfast bagel

Image
This morning we tried a bagel recipe from Instagram.  Bacon, egg and cheese bagel it was really good although putting cheese on most things improves it.  Cook the bacon in a frying pan while mixing three eggs together. When the bacon is cooked pour in the mixed egg. When the omelette is cooked through put your bagel half’s on top and turn over put some cheese in and fold !  It’s good  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

Biceps

Image
I had a choice between a general day or biceps I picked biceps.  It was rowing machine to start it was ok just 30mins getting the blood going.  The preacher curl machine next a 15kg plate on there then adding a 5kg to make 20kg.  Fat ez bar next on there then adding preacher starting with 10kg then going to 20kg it’s not a bar I use often so it was a bit of an unknown. Cable curls next 13kg then adding machine has a higher resistance than most then moving up to 22kg by the end.  I got on to the curl machine which was busy today starting at 20kg and moving up to 35kg to finish.  Bars next starting with a slow 20kg then up to 30kg to finish.  Had one spot in the gym diary so some lat pull downs not heavy just 35kg up to 50kg to kill it off  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

January Apple challenge

Image
So I’ve had a bit of catching up over the last few days, I was way behind because of my cold/flu but it seems to be on track.  8/14 and 11 days to go !  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

Shoulders today

Image
It’s back to the gym today after a lot of walking at work yesterday.  It was cross trainer intervals to start which was a shock to the legs after a while and some blood flow they were moving fine.  On to machine press 20kg up to 35kg a good start Lateral raise machine next and the same numbers Shoulder press with a bar next 20kg and some slow reps with a 30kg to kill it. Upright rows with the same bars it was really effective today Some front plate raises to finish 10kg up to 20 kg nice and slow. Only a quick one today as I had to go food shopping.  Hope you’ll forgive the lack of gym pics I think it appears a bit creepy even if there was no one in my pics.  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

A Real Pain, Jessie Eisenberg

Image
𝒜 ℛ𝑒𝒶𝓁 𝒫𝒶𝒾𝓃 𝒫𝑜𝓈𝓉𝑒𝓇 The odd couple road trip it’s been done a fair few times it has to be said.  This take on it is okay it has some funny moments and some moments to reflect on and of course the bonding it’s all a bit contrived and it’s been done before.  Jessie Eisenberg has written a nice story if you’re one of his fans you should watch this otherwise maybe find a better odd couple road trip movie, A Walk In The Woods with Redford and Nolte that’s funny and written by Bill Bryson too boot.  ⭐️⭐️ Have fun stay safe

Delta nose art Vince Dooley

Image
Something a bit different this morning came across this nose art on a Delta Boeing 767 and thought I’d write a small piece about it. As you can see it’s in honour of Vince Dooley head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs from 1964 though 1988, when Vince tried to retire they couldn’t find any one to replace him.  Vince’s teams won 1 national championship in 1980 and 6 southeastern conference titles 1966,1968,1976 1980-1982.  Vince lived between 1932-2022 and was survived by his wife Barbara and his four children. Vince achieved many accolades for his coaching as well as his championships.  An now he will have another little corner of the internet to occupy and be remembered on.  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼 𝒱𝒾𝓃𝒸𝑒 𝒟𝑜𝑜𝓁𝒹𝓎 𝒩𝑜𝓈𝑒 𝒜𝓇𝓉 𝒟𝑒𝓁𝓉𝒶

Day Of The Rangers, The Battle Of Mogadishu. Leigh Neville

Image
This book revisits the infamous battle of Mogadishu 1993. After the end of the Cold War the U.S saw itself as the world’s police force. Somalia had been under the thumb of a cruel dictatorship since the late 60’s after a failed war with its neighbour Ethiopia the regime became increasingly more violent and unstable.  The U.S wasn’t going to stand by and let this continue and famously sent special forces in during late 1993. The were met by network tv cameras as they emerged from the Indian Ocean covered in camo cream.  The rangers and delta force were charged with taking out the local war lords and used the same tactic over and over which led to the loss of a black hawk helicopter and the resulting battle. This book out lines the build up and the mission with the resulting aftermath.  An important book that remembers those events in autumn 1993 and the brave men that laid down their lives in a desperate situation.  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

Leg day

Image
I was in two minds heading to the gym. It’s that thing of trying to find an excuse or some lame reason not to go but eventually I thought to hell with it, give it a go.  I started of with some gentle rowing to get the blood moving, Buzz gym have changed the batteries in the rowing machines so now the display is bright and back lit too. It didn’t make me any better at it mind.  Then on to squats 40 kg moving up to 60kg it was hard going today but I managed to dig it out.  Leg extensions next 42.5kg up to 57.5kg it was easy going I’ll try to go higher next week.  Leg curls mirror the extensions again I’ll aim to go higher.  Leg press with plates to finish 50kg moving up to 80kg it was good I’ll add a little more next time out hopefully.  Have fun stay safe !

Afternoon walk

Image
ℬ𝓁𝒶𝒸𝓀𝓅𝒶𝓇𝓀 𝓁𝒶𝓀𝑒 I did things in reverse today I had lunch at home and watched a documentary on the mid nineties film “True Lies” it was good and touched base with the director and actors.  I was really of a mind to stay at home watch rubbish and enjoy the warmth but a message from my friend telling me he was out for a walk lit my motivation.  I got dressed up with my boots, coat and cap and put on the Russian revolution on Audible and left. Not a long walk today just up to Black Park lake and back just under 5 miles. It was just over 90 mins and I only have 30 mins of the book left to listen too. It was nice to get out and get some fresh air, it may sound silly but I’m breathing a lot better now I’m home.  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

Severance on Apple TV+

Image
𝒮𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝒶𝓃𝒸𝑒 𝓅𝑜𝓈𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝒜𝓅𝓅𝓁𝑒 𝒯𝒱+  An interesting new series from apple and an interesting concept.  Employees volunteer to have their minds altered so their memory’s aline with where they are, keeping work and social life completely separate.  It’s different and bizarre but strangely compelling at the same time. Drawing the viewer in with its direction (by Ben Stiller) and artfull set ups. I’m interested to see where it leads.  ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Have fun stay safe !

Before Midnight

Image
ℬ𝑒𝒻𝑜𝓇𝑒 ℳ𝒾𝒹𝓃𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝓅𝑜𝓈𝓉𝑒𝓇 The final part of the before trilogy and nine years after the last. Jessie and Celine are together on their family holiday to a Greek island and confront all the skeletons in the closet past relationships and personal baggage weigh heavily as they work things out.  Great ending and realistic you can put yourself in their shoes and feel their emotions as the film develops. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Have fun stay safe !

Before Sunset

Image
ℬ𝑒𝒻𝑜𝓇𝑒 𝒮𝓊𝓃𝓈𝑒𝓉 𝒫𝑜𝓈𝓉𝑒𝓇 The sequel to before sunrise the actors film. Jessie is promoting his book in Paris in a boutique book store just as he gets to the end and is about to wrap up Celine catches his eye and after 9 years it’s like they never parted. Another glorious film exploring relationships and missed opportunities. Of two people re building that perfect moment together.  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Have fun stay safe !

Mont Blanc Meisterstuck 149

Image
ℳ𝑜𝓃𝓉 ℬ𝓁𝓈𝓃𝒸 ℳ𝑒𝒾𝓈𝓉𝑒𝓇𝓈𝓉𝓊𝒸𝓀 149 There’s one, one fountain pen to which all are compared the literal master of pens the Mont Blanc Meisterstuck 149.  Mont Blanc make a whole range of pens and the snow cap star is just the epitome of class. The 149 is the master the top of the tree in the production range.  ℳ𝑜𝓃𝓉 ℬ𝓁𝒶𝓃𝒸 149 𝒩𝒾𝒷 How best to describe the 149 in one word it’s obscene, just obscene. It’s too big when you first pick it up. You are used to a normal pen and this is just slightly too large it’s awkward to hold. The nib is huge and looks more like an arrow head than a pen nib as it shines in gold.  To write with ahhh that’s the question and the whole point. I have to tell you firstly that if you buy this pen new then you can send the Nib back to Mont Blanc and they will grind it for you to your specifications so it will write exactly as you want it to. But even with a plain medium nib it’s a joy to use and the marker for all pens. It’s l...

Before Sunrise

Image
ℬ𝑒𝒻𝑜𝓇𝑒 𝒮𝓊𝓃𝓇𝒾𝓈𝑒 Ethan Hawke is delivers a fantastic performance with Julie Delpy. There’s no action just dialogue as a Man and Woman meet on a train and get to know each other. The first shoots of a relationship/friendship develop on a train to Vienna. A night of exploring and looking into one another’s soul.  If you like people and characters this is for you exploring a city and each other all the fun, fears and silliness that makes us who we are. If you crave action and shallow entertainment avoid like hell ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Have fun stay safe!

Gym and chest

Image
It’s back to the gym again my hiatus hernia had been playing up today probably because I’ve put on some weight while home with my cold.  After pushing my hernia back in it was cross trainer intervals set to 15 for 30 mins. It was ok.  Then onto machine flys 40kg to start and moving up to 55kg. I went into the weight room because the machines were full. I went on the incline press I added 10kg to the bar and it was painful on the hernia I reduced it to just the bar in the end.  Machine press next 19kg up to 27 not much as I didn’t want to aggravate the hernia.  Cable flys to finish 10kg dropping to 7.5kg I wasn’t really feeling it today but I had to go and try.  Have fun stay safe !

Unite Union health and safety representative

Image
𝒰𝓃𝒾𝓉𝑒 𝒰𝓃𝒾𝑜𝓃 𝓁𝑜𝑔𝑜 So I’ve put my nave forward to be a union health and safety representative. The incumbent’s are pretty strong and settled so I don’t hold much hope but if you don’t try you won’t find out.  It’s just the nomination stage at the moment the vote is in March I believe .  Have fun stay safe !

Journaling, Processing Power

Image
𝒜 𝒸𝑜𝓁𝑒𝒸𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃 𝑜𝒻 𝒥𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓃𝒶𝓁𝓈 We all share some key similarities as people we are all emotional beings, we all have regrets and wishes sometimes we’re overtaken by events.  But whatever is happening you should be processing it, taking the good lessons, learning from the bad ones and moving forward. Lots of people have their own ways of processing stuff, talking to family or friends, that moment of self reflection with a glass of wine or piece of chocolate.  Writing a journal really works for me sometimes much to my wife’s annoyance as I’m occasionally scratching away at a book in the small hours before going to bed. There in lies the rub though because once it’s down I’m done I can close the book and move forward. If I’ve messed up ( we all mess up sometimes ) I can write about it and dissect it as much as want on paper I can look at it every way possible and it’s all there and once I’ve extracted the lesson I can move on.  You might well be looking a...

S.A.S Rouge Heroes series 2 episode 4

Image
𝒮.𝒜.𝒮 ℛ𝑜𝑔𝓊𝑒 ℋ𝑒𝓇𝑜𝑒𝓈 𝒷𝒶𝓃𝓃𝑒𝓇 Just wanted to revisit this series and this episode because of its theme.  When we were young children we played at war in some fashion, if it was running around with a toy weapon or on a carpet battlefield with plastic soldiers and toy tanks. The good guys always won and there was always time for lunch. Everyone went home and got ready to do it all again the next day.  The reality is far different being in a hard and stressful environment day after day and never knowing what will happen next eats away at your humanity, yes you get tougher and desensitised but it all comes at a cost that you look at your self and wonder what you’ve become.  Episode Four does an excellent job of depicting this, of showing that a hard an calloused warrior can be bought back down with thump and have to come to terms with the brutal reality of war, that it knows no boundaries and that everyone is fair game even the innocent.  Have fun stay safe...

Return to the gym !

Image
I’ve run out of excuses, used them all up and so as I was feeling healthy I got my arse in gear and went. I was just going to judge where I was at but I did a full work out.  I got a bit of a niggle in my rear delt but it was ok.  It was rowing machine to start and I’ve lost a lot of cardio health and the heart rate monitor showed I was in level 2-3 where I’d normally be in 1-2.  Dead lifts my first weight set. 40kg up to 50kg not much but I wanted to take it easy first day back.  Reverse fly next 42.5kg up to 57kg I had a little niggle here but it was ok  Rear delt rope pull light weight 10kg up to 15kg nice and slow concentrating on form.  Lat pull downs 42.5kg up to 57kg  Machine rowing to finish 42.5kg up to 57.5kg  Not the heaviest work out day but I’m back in there pushing.  Have fun stay safe !

Boris Johnson, Unleashed

Image
ℬ𝑜𝓇𝒾𝓈 𝒥𝑜𝒽𝓃𝓈𝑜𝓃 𝒰𝓃𝓁𝑒𝒶𝓈𝒽𝑒𝒹 𝒞𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓇 Love him or hate him that bumbling gaff ridden mess Boris Johnson released his memoir it time for Christmas. His pay for writing was astronomical as well as the serialisation of the book in a national newspaper.  Of course much like the man it’s writer with bravado and bluster but a times it’s self deprecating too. It’s an interesting read and covers a unique period in UK and world history. Brexit and getting it finished and on in to the global emergency that was Covid 19 and the pandemic. It’s an easy read despite been a long book, if you’re a fan of Boris Johnson the you’ll love this book you probably have it already. If you’re not such a big fan or you find his manner irritating then obviously avoid this book like the plague because he’s exactly the same in the book.  An interesting time in political history that will never be repeated and a good look at the behind the scenes of major developments and the thoughts that ...

Pelikan Souveran M600 Fountain Pen

Image
Pelikan Souveran M600 Fountain Pen   I’ve owned my Souveran M600 for just over a year now, I didn’t buy it new I got it second Hand from Dylan Stephen Pens online store. It was in great condition and came with the original dealer stamp (Cult Pens) and the original box and paper work too. I filled the pen with Edelstein Mandarin ink Orange ink really appeals to me for some reason.  Pelikan M600 nib  What is it like to write with ? Well Pelikan make a range of fountain pens their Souveran models are top of that range and can cost into the thousands for their Maki-E crafted nib models, the normal Souveran Pens are really well crafted the nibs glide across a page with a fantastic balance from the pen itself. You can use the pens posted but they are better with out the lid balanced on the end cap but it’s better with out. With the mandarin ink by Pelikan’s Edelstein it lifts the writing showing the heavy parts of a writing stroke giving characters life. Designed fo...

Pulled muscle

𝒫𝓊𝓁𝓁𝑒𝒹 ℬ𝒶𝒸𝓀 ℳ𝓊𝓈𝒸𝓁𝑒  I thought I was in a good place and I was looking forward to the gym and then bang.  I was having a big clear out cough and caught one of my lower back muscles the wrong way and now I’m having trouble twisting.  So I’m going to chill at home put some heat on it and hopefully it’s free by tomorrow.  Have fun stay safe !
