On line shopping has changed the way that society works, don’t believe me ask someone who was alive before the internet. It used to be a slog to either the high street or in latter years an out of town shopping village, you’d look around the shops and find something in your budget or that a salesman recommended probably because he had to many. Today it’s browsing online and next day delivery! The down side is that you’re a slave to that 2 or 4 hour window and mine are always at the worst time. It’s never a nice early one like between 8-12, I always get the late lunch slot that completely messes the day up. If you get the early or evening slot feel free to taunt me below in the comments.
My delivery window was 11:47 - 15:47 so there was time to do some prep, just a tidy up and then make sure there was enough room to hang the T.V back on the wall where the old one had been. So the big question is where in my delivery window did it actually arrive, go on I’ll let you have a little guess ! 15:57 yes after waiting around all lunch time it arrived right at the end. So we managed to get it up on the wall scanned for all the channels and downloaded two updates then plugged it into the receiver and nothing, not a sausage ! Had a look on line and the so called T.V doctor had an article that said your receiver must be faulty. I knew that was crap because I’ve had a receiver die and it’s faulty when switching channels not completely working then completely dead. I messed about with it for 30 minutes and then went for some reflection.
If you have a problem with something you are working on if it’s and article, piece of art, installing a new gadget and it’s not going well take a break. Go and do something else it’s easy to get stuck in a rabbit hole and miss the obvious. I was building a PC once and couldn’t get it to power on, over and over I tried and looked couldn’t see the problem, I went away watched half an hour of TV come back and noticed the big ATX connector dangling in the wind I pushed it in and it started straight away. Moral is fresh eyes work best !
I went for a walk around the block I had intended to get some WeWard cards but my phone was playing up in the heat so I scraped that idea. I came home had another look at the T.V receiver issue. I’m not going to lie I did a little research and found that the HDMI settings on the TV had to be HDMI CEC off, I changed it over and it fired into life.

Roe deer and fawn |
It was a quick tea and then I went for my main walk up to Rowley footpath. When I was in the field a mother roe deer and her fawn watched me walk across they were perfectly still and hard to spot but they were just visible in the dry brown grass.
It was a nice walk in the cool evening air, I found 10 golf balls on my walk and now it’s time to enjoy the new T.V.
Have fun stay safe ๐๐ผ
