Jersey day Five, Jersey War Tunnels and museum.

 

Jersey war tunnels 

Day five in Jersey and there is some wet weather forecast for today so it was an indoor pursuit today and the War tunnels. 

We didn’t get a packed lunch today the tunnels aren’t that far from the town centre. 

Jersey War tunnel 

The tunnels are expensive at £19 but the museum is well presented. You’re given an ID card of a Jersey resident during the war and you can follow their story. There are residents, forced workers, children and occupation forces. It gives you a great insight into life during the occupation and the delicate balance. Would you report your neighbour for having a radio set ?.

It was back into town for a spot of lunch, today it was lamb burgers at the pub with a couple of pints. Then on to look around the Jersey museum there’s an exhibition on Jersey trade and Jerseys part in the slave trade. It was interesting and well laid out. It’s back to the hotel to chill and relax for the evening.
