The Surfer, Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage has slipped down Hollywoods pecking order from the cinema greats of ConAir and Face Off he’s now chasing rolls

I thought I’d check this one out with nostalgia for Nicolas in his hay day. It’s not to bad, I have to be honest.

A middle aged man wants to relive his youth and buy his former family home in an Australian Surfing community. When he tries to show his teenage son the beech he used to surf the locals make life difficult. The narrative grows as the film goes on and it turns in to a nice psychological thriller.

I have to say I really enjoyed it, is cage up to his best no but he’s good enough to keep you engaged. Australians tend to play good lawless mobs think Mad Max and gritty Australian films and they don’t disappoint here either.
