Cookham to Bourne End walk

Cookham High Street
Today’s trip is a walk down the river from Cookham to Bourne End and back. It’s a nice spring day. The traffic on the roads was really light I guess all children are indoors on PlayStations.

Fish and chips
The crown
Cookham
Before we went for a walk it was a stop of for lunch we went to The Crown pub at the end of the high street. It was fish & chips and if I’m honest I was disappointed. The chips were good as were the minty peas and tartar sauce but the piece of cod was very thick, so the middle of the fish was extremely wet and not a nice flaky texture. You know by now I’m all about textures.

Rusty railings
It was nice to walk down the Thames looking at the expensive houses on the opposite bank and trying to imagine a life in a big house on the river the summer cruises down the river and lazing on the lawn with a novel and a big G&T.

Oil seed rape
On the outskirts of Bourne End there’s a field with rapeseed oil planted in it. I thought it would make an ideal test subject for my new lens and testing out its depth of field I love pictures with boca ( out of focus noise ) in the background.

Hand fed sheep
There was a little enclosure with some sheep and fancy chickens in, this ram was brave and came over for some long grass. A friendly little chap we left him to his own devices and moved on.

Broken bridge
Cookham
Lucky it was dry on the Thames flood plain and we didn’t have to rely on the bridge to get us back across. It made me think of Indiana Jones what he would be doing on the Thames god only knows.

Ok that’s it for today !

Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
