home and have never been traced their body’s not found. There are 20,000 names on the walls of the airforce memorials just above Runnymede so their names will live forever in remembrance.

Inside the memorial there’s a staircase that leads to a viewing area, on a nice clear day like today you can pick out the city of London as well as other nearby landmarks, Heathrow Airport, Wembley stadium, Windsor castle and the giant reservoirs of west London.

Path down to
Runnymede

There’s a path that leads down to Runnymede and it’s memorials it’s a bit tricky in places and I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re a bit older as it’s a hard slog getting back up bit a good adventure and definitely gets the heart pumping.  There are two routes down direct to the memorials or via a viewing area that overlooks Heathrow Airport.

Writ in water

There’s first memorial we came across looks like a concrete bunker and a relic of the Second World War, the concrete is rough and cheaply poured just as they were. Inside there’s a beautiful still pond that reflects the opening lines from the Magna Carta. The artwork is cleverly called Writ on water and it’s worth going to see.

Runnymede

A short walk from there is a part of England that was donated to the United States in order that the life of J.F.K be remembered and his brutal assassination in Dallas in November 1963.

The jurors

In the field itself there’s a memorial to the legal system and it depicts areas of the law, it’s called The Jurors and it’s made up of 12 chairs all with intricate art work on.

Wicker women

There are three lady’s all made of wicker that depicts a child being thrown up in the air in a playful way. Thet are very big and well made and are curious sight. When lined up they make a good photograph.

Queen Elizabeth 2

After looking at the sights we went for a walk along the river side and up to the ice cream parlour before remembering that we had to climb back up to the car again so called it a day.

We walked back up the non scenic route and discovered a herd of cows relaxing under a tree and of course being a budding wild life photographer I had to take some snap's.

Cow enjoying the sun

Ok that’s it for today.

Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
