Plastic ducks at work ?

A social experiment or just a random act ! I’m just not sure which. It was Sunday morning at work and on our machines and monitors an army of miniature ducks appeared. Some of them singular and other times in pairs they were spread throughout the room (Large room ), slowly they were noticed and they initiated social interactions. People would had them as gifts to another some times as a little joke or as a token of affection. A lot of them lasted the day with only a few being selected as a keepsake.

The next day the rest were slowly taken some people after 24 hours of thinking saw how cute they were and wanted an army of them. Others were content only to have one. It’s strange the way people looked at this tiny Inexpensive piece of plastic. I overheard some people today, “Oh where is yours?” Asked one “I left him at home I want to keep him safe” replied the other, “I’m really taking care of mine too, I don’t want to loose him. I think I’ll leave mine at home to tomorrow!” So much care and attention for a tiny plastic duck. Isn’t humanity an amazing thing. No doubt for some these tiny bits of plastic were annoying rubbish that got in the way but to others they were delicate things that needed care and affection and demanded some form of paternal love.

What are your thoughts and how would you approach a tiny plastic duck, would you throw it in the bin as rubbish or adopt it as a pseudo pet and take care of it as if it were an animate object ?

As for me I can see both sides of you’re there to do a job and have plastic ducks falling off of monitors and machines it’s a small pain. If you want a talisman or touch piece to make you feel better or to focus some energy on to then it has some good value. I did have one in my possession but my friend was recruiting an army of them and I didn’t want to disappoint.

Have fun stay safe πŸ‘πŸΌ
