After spending the morning watching Kubrick’s Lolita and then writing about it I needed some fresh air, so with the headphones freshly charged I was up and out. There was no evidence of the Slough Grand Prix today so it must have been a quiet night. The only eyesore is the refuse on the streets, the fortnightly collection means bin bags get piled up and the ripped apart by the ever growing numbers of urban foxes looking for the rotting food inside. As I get out of the town I regret my outfit, I’m wearing a base layer, a wooly jumper and a coat the sun is bright and I’m getting hot. I’ve only bought a camera bag with me so I’ll have to suffer it and take the lesson.

As I get to Eaton it’s full of activity there are boys running between classes in tails and a few tourists wondering around, I was once asked by a Japanese tourist where Eaton college was I told him that it was all around him. He was still confused and expected one big building. As I get nearer to Windsor it’s easy going and without much road traffic it’s easy to get to the bridge that separates the two. My priority is to get some lunch after a fast 3 mile walk I’m really hungry. Five guy’s is todays choice. It’s not that busy inside and I’m straight to the counter a little cheeseburger today with grilled onion, jalapeรฑo and a touch of chilli sauce just for a taste. I get a small fries and a Biscoff shake to finish. I grab some peanuts and make an arty photo while I wait, it doesn’t take long and I’m soon tucking in. Today I find the fries a bit of a struggle. Normally I’m destroying them but today not so much the shake is good and I’m soon at the bottom. There are some pictures I want to take that give you an idea of Windsor I’ll add them to the bottom of this blog. I guess when you go to Windsor a lot you forget about the castle and it just blends in to the background.

My first stop is to give you an impression of the long walk from Windsor castle to the George III statue at the end it’s a long straight walk with slight gradient at each end. If you’re in Windsor and it’s a nice day try it, go for a walk there are always lots of people there and you can even get in a bit of plane spotting if that’s your thing as you are right under the flight path. I also grabbed a picture of the rear entrance to Windsor castle if you ever saw the queen at royal Ascot on the television then this was the exit of Windsor castle she used. I grab some other pictures of the turrets and of the clock there’s also a picture of a knights grave in the Church yard near Windsor castle the dappled light under the trees gave it an apt setting. I went down into Peascod street and looked at another lens for my camera but decided against it as I have spent far too much on my camera this month already.
