Afternoon walk, early daffodils

Daffodils up close
The weather has improved over the last week and there has been some sunshine in the afternoons so as I’m on a rest day I thought I’d try and get some pictures of early daffodils in the sunshine on the way to a nice walk around the lake in Blackpark.

I found a small section of roadside where they were springing up, it was facing south so had the full sun all day. I took one shot on the way up just an experiment and then continued up to the park.

Old mossy log

There’s not much there to photograph as its yet to come to life, I was able to get a close up of a moss covered log but they all look pretty much the same and once you’ve got one in your portfolio you’ve got it covered. I went for a quick walk around the lake and because the weather was nice it was busy with lots of families walking around.

I wanted to head back and try to get some more shots of the daffodils with the aperture open. I think I went a bit too far and next time I should dial it back a few stops to give more depth of field. I’m learning. So I’m crouching down by the side of a busy road taking pictures of flowers and obviously people driving past are being nosy and looking, suddenly there’s a skidding of tyres and loud horns but lucky no crash.

I’m glad I went out I’ve learned a little bit and I can apply it next time, I’ll have some daffodils coming out in the garden soon so I’ll be able to practice a bit more and hopefully get better.

Have fun stay safe 👍🏻
