Lunchtime walk around Blackpark

Swan up close
Even though it’s still cold out just nudging 5°C it was at least dry so I picked up the camera gear and headed up to the park. It was muddy under foot but with some sturdy boots and some cheap army surplus trousers on I could risk slipping on my backside, disappointingly for you I managed to stay upright the whole time.

Pine needles macro
There was a plan as it’s winter and there’s not a lot happening my intentions where to explore some macro photography and some textures and just experiment and see if I could capture anything half decent.

So I went out looking for the unusual the old trees that had been through trauma or the contrast of soft green moss on a mottled brown background. I know these aren’t the best pictures but it’s an exploration in texture, light and form!

Rhododendron buds
I also headed to the back of pinewood studios it makes the walk longer and there’s a chance all be it a very small one that I could catch an A list celebrity out for a jog in the park, sadly not today, they must have been tucked up in their trailers not wanting to brave the cold !

Holly leaves

I’m still learning
