Bridget Jones Mad About The Boy
As you’ve probably guessed by the blogs over the last week I went to see the new Bridget Jones today, it was all pre booked on the Odeon app back row seats F 9-10 so after calling into WHSmith for some sweets two packets for £3 currently, it was on to the cinema. Putting the ticket in the apple wallet it’s just a case of having it scanned before going in.
As we were going in the adverts were playing on the screen, I can’t remember what it was for but it looked all sunny and tanned with tight camera angles and tighter shorts. Climbing up to our seats only to find two lady’s of a certain age one of them in one of our pre booked seats ! Lucky I’m not that OCD and just moved over one it was the 11:30 show in half term so it wasn’t busy.
The trailers are always an opportunity to see what you might watch in the coming months in the cinema, or if you are like me you’ll pledge to watch it in the cinema talk about how interesting it looks, forget and then come across it in a few years time while looking on sky cinema for a film to watch. There’s a Steve Coogan movie* coming out set in Argentina about the rehabilitation of a penguin against the back drop of the Junta and the disappeared (political dissidents where taken from the streets) it looks interesting but I won’t go to see it, I’ll see it come out but the gloss would have worn off by then.
The film itself if you’ve got this far you are over 5 hours invested in this franchise and you’ll be reassured with that warmth of the familiar, she’s back ! Bridget is a single mother of two as usual struggling to cope, with everything tittering on the brink of collapse. Mark has passed away four years prior and now her friends want her to start dating again. Starting with tinder Bridget has to navigate modern dating and behaviours as she tries to build a relationship. It has all of the classic humour and you can’t help but be captivated by RenΓ©e Zellwegger as Bridget. There’s a complete emotional journey over two hours and you’ll be glad you experienced it. No don’t wait for it to come on T.V go to the cinema and treat yourself !
