007 James Bond a new era

 

As a child I loved James Bond and the franchise it’s self, I would get home from school put in a Bond video and sit glued to the screen. Moonraker was my favourite all the locations, the fight in the glass museum and the ending set in space. In fairness this might be why my grammar is so bad ! 

The studio that produced EON productions James Bond films MGM was bought by Amazon in May 2021. Amazon were keen to cash in on the Bond franchise and released a Game show based on it ‘007 race to a Million’ on their streaming service Amazon Prime. It was pretty good a mixture of physical challenges and questions based loosely on the Bond locations. 

Amazon being the corporate juggernaut that it is wanted to cash in on their newly acquired brand but ultimately control resided with Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson the heirs of Albert R ‘Cubby’ Broccoli the original producer and owner to the James Bond rights. For the last four years they have held out and fought to keep the legacy of Bond and not let it turn into a cash cow for Amazon. Yesterday it was announced that ultimate control of 007 James Bond will now reside with Amazon. I’m not sure what to expect will it be a case of series based around Bond and having them spaced out much like Disney with Star Wars ? Or will it be spin off after spin off until it becomes tired and we’ve all had enough ?! 

James Bond is no longer a British institution he’s been bought by a corporate giant. For king and country James ? No for amazon !

There’s a bakery, butcher, delicatessen and a small off licence too. Be warned yes all the products are really nice but the do have a premium price too ! ๐’ฒ๐’พ๐“ƒ๐’น๐“ˆ๐‘œ๐“‡ ๐’ป๐’ถ๐“‡๐“‚ ๐“ˆ๐’ฝ๐‘œ๐“… ๐’พ๐“ƒ๐“‰๐‘’๐“‡๐’พ๐‘œ๐“‡ But if it’s pay day or treat day it’s worth a look and if you’re already out you can visit Runnymede memorials or the air force’s memorial as they are close by.  Have fun stay safe ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Lunchtime walk to Windsor

๐’ฒ๐’พ๐“ƒ๐’น๐“ˆ๐‘œ๐“‡ ๐’ž๐’ถ๐“ˆ๐“‰๐“๐‘’ ๐’ป๐“‡๐‘œ๐“‚ ๐’ซ๐‘’๐’ถ๐“ˆ๐’ธ๐‘œ๐’น  ๐“ˆ๐“‰๐“‡๐‘’๐‘’๐“‰ After spending the morning watching Kubrick’s Lolita and then writing about it I needed some fresh air, so with the headphones freshly charged I was up and out. There was no evidence of the Slough Grand Prix today so it must have been a quiet night. The only eyesore is the refuse on the streets, the fortnightly collection means bin bags get piled up and the ripped apart by the ever growing numbers of urban foxes looking for the rotting food inside. As I get out of the town I regret my outfit, I’m wearing a base layer, a wooly jumper and a coat the sun is bright and I’m getting hot.
