S.A.S Rouge Heroes series 1-2
S.A.S Rouge Heroes returns to BBC One and IPlayer. It’s a must see it simply ticks all the boxes.
Sir David Sterling was recovering in a Cairo hospital from a broken leg from a failed parachute jump he develops the idea of landing a small heavily armed group of soldiers behind enemy lines to sabotage enemy airfields.
With those in command keen to give the idea that there is an airborne element in theatre it gets the green light.
Series one takes you from the initial set up all the way through the North African campaign. All the missions, mistakes and characters that make up the early S.A.S Lt (Lt Col)Paddy Mayne deserves a T.V series of his own the former rugby player was a one man army.
Series two takes off from the first and the S.A.S are moving to Europe and Italy. The unit is in disarray and needs a new grounding before the landings in Sicily.
With lots of action from the start some great acting, and a story based on true events you can’t go wrong. If you’ve never read the books you’ll be in for a real treat.
