Bravo Two Zero, Andy McNab

Bravo Two Zero Cover
Andy McNab

I’m pretty sure it was Christmas 1995 thst I asked for this book I can remember the hype it received and how fast it was selling. I didn’t actually get this book on Christmas Day because it had been lost so I had to wait a couple of days. I think I got it on the 28th I’m not sure !

Andy McNab was the commander of the Bravo Two Zero mission that went wrong during the first gulf war. Both of these books start the same and out line the beginning of the mission and when it turns into an escape and evasion mission.

There’s a point where they troops get separated and that’s the difference, Andy’s group go on to hijack a car and get captured. Andy is candid about his as a captive in Iraq the abuse and interrogations, then his eventual freedom and return.

Again it’s a really good book and the original S.A.S bestseller. Some of the story has been debunked in a latter book ‘The Real Bravo Two Zero’ but it’s fun nonetheless the less read it and judge for yourself.

Did they really hijack a U.S yellow taxi in the middle of the desert ? Was the commander wrong to continue the mission when other Bravo missions had been aborted by their commanders ?
