Rest day hike to the long walk Windsor and lunch

The Long Walk Windsor
It’s my single rest day this week, it’s pay day and I have the day to my self which means I can go for a long hike and treat myself to lunch out on the way home. One of my favourite places to walk to is up the long walk in Windsor to the statue of George III on horseback. There’s a sense of accomplishment as you start out on the long walk there are lots of people milling about but the soon thin as you get further and further from the castle.

Destroyed traffic light
I waited in for most of the morning because I was expecting a parcel. The text message I received told me it was coming between 08:11 and 10:11 which isn’t so bad, I heard the postman delivering the rest of the post and expected the door bell to ring but instead I received a text, we tried to deliver your parcel but it appears you were not home. Obviously I was home and went to look for the postman but he was long gone. So I set out on my walk I had to walk through Slough town centre which I’m sure turns into a race track at night I never see the race only the aftermath the next day.

I walk through a small park, Herschel park on my way to Eaton and there are some beautiful little wood carvings that have been made from the stumps of dead trees. Its just a small detail but it seems to lift the park and amongst all the autumn leaves they really stand out.
A few years ago I treated myself to a new pair of Altberg boots, I got the
Aqua boot and it’s a great boot but when they are new they’re very stiff and take a bit of time to get broken in. I don’t wear them that often but today they have been absolutely brilliant and have moulded to my feet at last !

I’ve just stopped in at The Long Walk Bar and grill Windsor for a spot of lunch before I head home. It looked very nice from the outside. I skipped the starters and went for lamb chops and I was very pleased they were nice and pink and it was all delicious I would highly recommend.
