Mont Orgueil Castle Jersey  It’s day three in Jersey after breakfast it was a quick walk into St Helier to pop into Liberation supermarket which is Waitrose because of their fix price lunch offer £5. We caught the No1 bus to visit the original castle in Gorey.  Cannon on the castle  Battlements  The castle is £19 each to visit and I have to say it’s good value, there’s an actor running around playing a surf and he goes to great lengths to make it fun and interesting. Each aspect of castle design is explained and how it was adapted for gunpowder and cannons. There are exhibits inside with statues from the castle and an art piece of Queen Elizabeth 2nd hologram picture from 2007 and a video about its creation.   It was a wet start this morning with just over an hour of rain, luckily it was breakfast time and the buffet was open. ( if I go on to have a heart attack from cholesterol it was unlucky) I tried to limit myself for breakfast thinking of my waistline.  Jersey military museum ! As the weather was bad it was an indoor pursuit today, Jersey military museum it’s about an hour by bus. Before going we stopped off in M&S to get a packed lunch a roll some crisps  Jersey sea glass  and a drink for lunch. Much better than being stuck in the middle of nowhere with no option but an expensive eatery. The museum is £8 for adults and £5 for children. It is a former Samphire  bunker and has 5-6 rooms packed full of exhibits all related to the German occupation of the Channel Islands. If you have a daughter who might not be In to military history then there’s a Jersey Pearl shop opposite where you can fashion a piece of jewellery from a fresh water pearl.  Le Don Hilt...

British Airways A319  Jersey airport   It’s the first day of our holiday to Jersey, we got to the airport early. Probably too early we were there for 6am for a 8:40am departure but it’s good to be ahead of the game. Sun reflecting off the  Channel   It’s a very quick flight only 30 minutes however because of the fog over the airport we were held in a holding pattern over northern France for 10 minutes or so. Once it was clear we were straight in, the airport wasn’t that busy and the other flights had cleared quickly. Once we’d collected the luggage it was out to find the bus number 15 taking us straight into St Helier. A quick walk to drop off the bags and it was into the centre for lunch and an exploration.  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

  Summer is here and the temperature in the flat reaches 31°c it’s motivation to get out for a walk in get some breeze and shade.  It was a walk to collect today’s WeWards and to try and collect some golf balls only 8 balls today I guess the heat puts players off. However that does mean 101 balls over the last 4 weeks.  It was nice to get out and get some exercise even if I was covered in layers of sunscreen and bug spray. Hopefully not too many bites today, let’s see !  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

  Fantasia circus tent  After getting home from Henley it was a little chill before heading out for an evening hike.  Fantasia circus are in town so it was an opportunity to photograph the tent from different angles this is one of my favourites from a field on the edge of Rowley farm.  It was up past the golf course and today it was 10 balls added to the bag, if you know anyone who plays golf and could use 70 golf balls leave a comment below. It was a nice walk otherwise. Have fun stay safe 👍🏼

Henley on Thames Riverside view  Today it was a lunch time exploring Henley, it’s only a few days before the world famous regatta starts.  Rowing 8 practice  For Henley regatta First stop was the charity shops sometimes there are some bargains to be had. There were some nice Hugo Boss suits there sadly I’m a bit to large for the average Hugo Boss suit.  Henley regatta tents  Rowing pair getting ready  Henley regatta      Next it was a walk by the riverside all the infrastructure for the regatta is being put in place the grandstands and beer tents. The rowing teams we’re practicing up and down the course and coaches were cycling on the tow path with surprising calmness given the traffic.  After a walk by the riverside it was a quick stop into Cotê for some French onion soup. It was thick and tasty. It’s well worth an exploration and there is some beautiful historical architecture in the town.  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼  ...

 This morning when I left for work it was raining hard soo picked up the gym gear and packed it in the car.  When I was on the way home it was clear blue skies so I wanted to make the most of it. With standing water on the roads cycling was out so it was a long walk up to Blackpark via Rowley footpath I managed to get 8 golf balls on the way up.  By mile 7 it was less of a walk more of a shuffle but I made it home after 10.5 miles I did stop off to buy 4 beers as it’s the start of my holiday.  Have fun stay safe 👍🏼
